Progress Is Made In Between Sessions

Progress Is Made In Between Sessions

One thing on many people's mind now is the guilt they carry from every other new year

"This is going to be my year"

"I'm finally going to get in shape"

Every year people tell themselves similar stories and when new year comes a massive wave of motivation starts for a short period of time

After a short while burnout sets in and they are back to their old habits and lifestyle

So now that the new year is here people are working overtime making up for those bad habits from all last year

Here's a shocking tip if this sounds like you:

More is not always better. Most progress, gains, fat loss, and pain relief occurs in between sessions during your rest time

What does this mean for you?

You don't need to lift 7 days a week for 2 hours then kill yourself on the treadmill after to make up for all the work you should have been doing all along

This is what lots of people think

"I'll go to the gym more to make up for my lost time"

"I'll train extra hard to catch up"

Unfortunately it does not work like that

Our bodies are like the stock market. It compounds interest over time

It's better to invest small amounts regularly than throw a bunch of money at one time in the stock market

Similarly, your consistency is more important and valuable than the intensity level you train at

Pushing yourself is important but NOTHING will substitute for inconsistency

I say it over and over but it will never change

Nothing beats staying consistent for a very long period of time

Fitness has no end game. As soon as you stop you slide backwards. So if you're feeling extra motivated now train smart to avoid burnout and stay sustainable

And if you do truly want this to be YOUR YEAR like you say every new year, when it feels hard and you want to quit you will achieve the same outcome you always have in the past
